What is high-oleic groundnut oil?
Groundnut (peanut) oil where oleic acid — a monounsaturated fatty acid — makes up a higher share of the oil's fat composition than in standard groundnut varieties. zer0F uses Girnar-4, an ICAR-developed high-oleic variety.
What is Girnar-4?
Girnar-4 is an ICAR-developed groundnut variety bred for a higher oleic acid content (reported at 78.5% oleic acid in oil by ICAR variety data). zer0F sources this variety directly and will publish its own tested batch values as they become available.
Is cold-pressed enough to define oil quality?
No — cold pressing is one part of the story. The zer0F Standard covers four stages: Source (ingredient quality), Measure (lab verification), Protect (oxygen/light/temperature control), and Experience (how the oil performs in your kitchen). Read the full Standard.
How can I verify a batch of cooking oil?
Every zer0F bottle will carry a batch code you can look up — via QR code on the bottle or manual entry — to see the ingredient, process checkpoints, and quality status behind that exact batch. This launches with our first verified batches. See Batch Proof.
How do heat, oxygen, light and storage affect oil quality?
Heat, oxygen exposure and light can all degrade oil quality over time. zer0F's Protect stage is built around managing these factors through packaging and handling. We publish specific numeric or duration claims only once they're measured and approved for that batch — we don't estimate.
How long might a bottle last in my household?
This depends entirely on how often you cook with it. We're building a Cost/Freshness tool that estimates this from your own usage pattern and the pack you choose — it will not predict nutrient levels or make a shelf-life claim, only a usage-based estimate.
How does zer0F decide when to remind me to reorder?
Reminders will be based on your declared or estimated usage pace plus delivery time, not a guess. You'll be able to adjust or turn off reminders at any time. This system is not live yet.
